Help First Year HSC (Voc.) Students 2014

Goals

The primary objective of this initiative is to raise funds for the financially challenged HSC(Voc.) 1st year students to help them covering up their 1st year HSC collge admission, registration, yearly technical board exam fee, and monthly college fee they have to pay in to get admitted to collge and continue their HSC education. For many parents/guardians, paying this initial admission and other fees are huge burden which forces premature drop out of many talents. We believe that with a little support from all of us, we can atleast ensure that these students are not stuck at the very early stage of their careers.

Project Details

Khairunnesa Memorial High School is located in the remote village of Ikrail, Alfadanga, Faridpur district in Bangladesh. Students appear HSC examination(vocational) under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board with concentraion in three trades: 1) Civil Construction, 2) Textile Engineering and 3) Building Maintenance. Students who attend this school are from very poor families and often their parents are day labors and poor farmers. Recently, due to river erosion, the school land became detached from the main land. Under technical board, students have to apprear at exams twice in a year at a distant center besides their final HSC exam. Students have to pay fees for these exams, admission fees, tuition fees and registration(form-fillup) fees. These fees are huge for these poor village students and for their poor families Many students drop out after their SSC due to the initial admission and registration fees to get admitted to college for HSC and then continue their education as they cannot afford these fees and educational expenses. This year many of these recent SSC graduates are struggling to continue their education and get themselves admitted to college for HSC. This year 10 students from this school received GPA 5.0 including 3 students who received Golden GPA 5.0. Please help these brilliant students continue their education.

To support a student for one year we need approximately $75. Here is a breakdown of this estimated cost.
